The 'drug scene' in Tenerife is a 'line of inquiry' in Jay Slater's investigation

A TV detective says the involvement of a third party and Tenerife's “drugs underworld” is a “line of inquiry” in the search for missing teenager Jay Slater.

Mark Williams-Thomas, a former police officer, held a press conference in Tenerife today (June 26).

He said he has spoken with Jay's family. He added that if Jay is not found, a third party could be involved in his disappearance.

He said: “I don’t believe it’s anywhere near the rental. It's a very easy place to search. »

“If he had trouble, it was either on the other side of the lookout or further down, towards the city.

“The police are searching very well. There are mountain rescues and a lot of people are up there.

“He will be found. If it is not found, it brings this other element which is third [involvement].”

Mark said there was a “drug underworld” on the island.

He said: “I have received information that there is definitely an underworld here… a big drug network. [culture].

“I can't tell you at the moment whether it had a big impact. I've only been here less than 48 hours.

“What I can tell you is the information I have at the moment. The family has shared everything with me.

“I have a lot of WhatsApp messages and conversations. This is a line of inquiry.”

The former detective, best known for “exposing” Jimmy Savile after his death, says he has interviewed numerous witnesses but has yet to speak to two “key people” who are now back in the UK.

It was two men who took Jay to the vacation rental.

He said: “There are two key people I haven't spoken to. They are two men who took Jay back to the holiday rental in the hills. They have spoken to the police. They are now back in England.”

Jay has not been seen since Monday, June 17. At the time of writing, there has been no major progress in the search for the missing Oswaldtwistle teenager.
