The best melee weapon in 7 Days to Die

The long awaited 7 days to die Version 1.0 is here and brings a ton of new features to the game. The completely reworked armor system has overhauled the build options for every player type. For players looking to get up close and personal with the new zombie variants, you'll want to build your character so that you can withstand as much damage as possible. Here's Everything You Need to Know to Create the Best Integrated Melee Weapon 7 days to die.

The best type of melee weapon 7 days to die

The best melee weapon in the game is different from the best melee weapon in theory. In the game, your best weapon type will probably be the one in which you have the most books and the highest level weapon. An epic level combat knife with multiple pounds will beat a low level stone hammer any day of the week.

But if finding books and crafting high-level weapons isn't a problem, maces are by far the best melee weapon to use from early to late game. Whether you're raiding a POI or defending against a horde, it helps to not have to worry about stamina consumption. With maces, you'll be able to jump around the environment, knocking zombies over with almost every hit, while staying out of harm's way thanks to your quick movements.

Steel clubs are the best in this class, with baseball bats slightly behind in damage.

Best Armor Set for Melee Weapons 7 days to die

So we decided to use clubs. Now we need to determine which of the new armor sets are best for our build. I discovered that the Medium Biker Armor The set is the best option as it increases melee damage, reduces stamina usage and movement speed.

Other viable but less optimal armor sets include the Athletic Light Armor Set and the Raider Heavy Armor Set. As for the Light Armor Sets, they simply aren't enough for melee weapon builds. The Light Armor Sets contain more utility options or, in the case of the Athletic Set, general stat increases. The Heavy Armor, on the other hand, results in a very durable character, but with minimal damage bonuses.

Best Melee Weapon Attributes and Perks 7 days to die

To get the best melee weapon build, you'll want to focus on the Strength, Agility, and Fortitude attributes. Here's what your attribute and perk breakdown should look like:

Of course, this is what you should aim for to create the best melee weapon setup. If you're playing solo, you'll likely need to craft or collect perks to progress comfortably. Since you are investing in agility, stealth is a viable strategy, but it will require significantly more perk points and should therefore only be considered in the later stages of the game.

Best Consumables for Melee Weapons 7 days to die

Melee weapons seek two consumable upgrades: melee weapon damage and stamina recovery. Coffee is one of the easiest stamina drinks to craft and its higher-tier version, Blackstrap Cafeis a consumable that every build should use. Skull crushers are the best candies because of the 50% melee damage buff.

The books you will want to use are:

  • The 7 volumes of the Beat series since its collector perk makes powerful attacks refill your stamina.
  • Mining Art Volume 4 so you can make Blackstrap Coffee.
  • Volumes 2, 3 and 4 of Bar fights for extra damage and knockdown potential.
  • Volumes 1, 6 and 7 of Urban combat to create the Stealth Boots mod, remove armor movement penalties during combat and increase damage and defenses within.

The best melee weapon mods in 7 days to die

For clubs, we have many useful weapon mods. Here is the best combination of weapon mods for steel clubs:

  • Weighted head
  • Metal chain
  • Burning Well
  • Radiation Remover or Metal Spikes (depending on the types of zombies you encounter)

Increases the chance to stun/knock down on a fast attack speed weapon like mace towers 7 days to die in Whack-A-Mole. With this combination of perks, mods, and consumables, you'll be sweeping aside the hordes of Navezgane with every hit.
