The explosion reported that on May 30, Shiloh filed a petition in a Los Angeles court for a name change that would allow her to remove Pitt from her name.

The third eldest of the former couple, Jolie and Pitt, was named Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt but requested that it be changed to Shiloh Nouvel Jolie.

According to reports, Shiloh hired her own lawyer and filed the documents three days after she turned 18, implying that she was eager to do so.

While it was initially unclear why Shiloh made the sudden decision to change her last name, a close source has now revealed that it was related to her parents' ongoing custody battle.

Shiloh and his siblings were prevented from testifying despite Angelina Jolie's request for the court to allow it. The young actor now seems to blame his father for this decision.

The insider shared, according to the Daily Mail: “The name change dates back to the custody battle and Shiloh's belief that her rights as a victim were violated.”

They added: “Shiloh believed she had a right, as a victim of a crime, to testify – and she was prevented from doing so.”

The incident was allegedly so violent that the six children, then minors, started crying in the middle of the drama.
