The alleged perpetrator of the murder of Tamara Geddes is remanded in custody | News

Bryan Shelly, one of the men accused of the contract murder of Tamara Geddes, 36, on June 9, 2020 in Trelawny, has been remanded in custody until November 24.

Shelly appeared before Judge Bertram Morrison on Thursday morning at Trelawny Circuit Court being held in Duncans.

Shelly is accused of breaking into Geddes' house in Reserve, Trelawny, where he stole two mobile phones and demanded sex from her. His request was not met and he opened fire, hitting the woman.

Three others involved in the murder: Nadeen Geddes, Tamara's sister; and Tamara's nieces, Shanice Ruddock and Janae Smith, pleaded guilty to murder conspiracy and murder.

Nadeen, who paid $150,000 to have her sister killed, was sentenced to 20 years in prison for murder and five years for conspiracy to murder, while Ruddock and Smith received five-year suspended sentences in May 2021.

Two other men, Tashana Young, 33, of Norwood, St James; and Owen Irving, 55, also of Norwood, also pleaded guilty to murder and conspiracy to murder.

Irving was sentenced to 20 years in prison while Young was sentenced to five years.
