Texas pastor sentenced to 35 years in prison for robbing churches

Although going to church is not a big deal in other parts of the country, many people in Texas attend church on Sundays. Church is something that everyone can choose, but when you find a good church, it can almost feel like you're surrounding yourself with family. Although recently a pastor in Texas was stealing, and it caught up with him in a big way.

According to My San Antonio, Whitney Foster, 56, of Dallas, Texas, was sentenced to 35 years in prison for stealing from three church buildings while she led the church. Like most churches, Foster started small and continued to build its congregations, but that's where things went wrong.

Three church buildings all named after him

As the churches grew, Foster put his name on the deeds to three church buildings totaling more than $800,000. It was the first Christian church in Lancaster and Dallas, as well as the Canada Drive Christian Church and the Nineveh Church. It's not legal, and the Dallas County Criminal District Attorney wasn't going to let him get away with it.

A church still active

One of the churches that still has an active congregation attending services, although Foster won't be there anytime soon as he begins his 35-year sentence. He has previously been charged with theft and arson.

I hope this is a lesson to all thieves in Texas, you will be caught and held accountable for your actions when you break the law. Great job by Texas law enforcement on how they handled this case.
