Tesla captures shooting outside Revere Stop & Shop grocery store

Revere City Police were investigating after a person was shot Tuesday night outside a Stop & Shop grocery store on Squire Road. The incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. in front of the storefront located off Route 1. Police have released few details about the incident, but surveillance video recorded by a Tesla parked nearby and obtained by the WCVB shows a confrontation between a man in an SUV and a person outside the vehicle. The confrontation escalated, with the person inside the vehicle eventually getting out of the car, eventually pointing what appeared to be a gun and shooting the man. The witness in the Tesla said the man was shot in the stomach. He ran into the store for help, while the shooter got back into the black SUV, fleeing the scene, witnesses said. Police blocked the entrance to Stop & Shop, preventing shoppers from entering while they investigated. Police said the shooting did not appear to be random. The investigation is ongoing. In a written statement, Stop & Shop said it was aware of what it described as an “unfortunate incident” that occurred outside its Revere store. “We are cooperating with police in their investigation,” Stop & Store said. “The safety of our associates and customers is a top priority for us, and we are grateful to local law enforcement and first responders for their quick response.” The company said the store is back open for shoppers.

The witness in the Tesla said the man was shot in the stomach.

He ran into the store for help, while the shooter got back into the black SUV, fleeing the scene, witnesses said.

Police said the shooting did not appear to be random. The investigation was ongoing.
