Terrorist attack in Jammu: four victims, including a toddler, are from Jaipur

Four of the ten pilgrims who died in a terror attack in Jammu on Sunday were from Jaipur, police officials said on Monday.

The deceased from Jaipur have been identified as Rajendra Saini, his wife Mamta Saini, Pooja Saini and two-year-old son Livansh Saini.

Pooja's husband Pawan was seriously injured in the attack and is undergoing medical treatment in hospital.

While Rajendra was a textile trader in Jaipur, Pawan owns an eMitra kiosk.

Jaipur District Collector Prakash Rajpurohit said discussions were on to bring the remains of the deceased back to Jaipur.

Meanwhile, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma expressed his condolences on Monday.

He posted on his handle X: “The news of the death of four civilians from Jaipur district in the cowardly attack on a pilgrimage bus in Jammu and Kashmir is sad.

“Instructions have been given to senior officials of the Rajasthan government to immediately coordinate with Jammu and Kashmir officials and local administration to hand over the mortal remains to the families of the deceased.”

“May Lord Shri Ram bring peace to the souls of the departed and speedy recovery to the injured. Our government is fully committed to those affected by the attack in this difficult time,” he said and tagged the CMO of Rajasthan in the message

Meanwhile, former CM Ashok Gehlot said, “It was reported that four devotees from Rajasthan died in this attack. I pray to God to grant peace to the souls of all the deceased and give courage to their families. I hope that the Rajasthan Government will provide all possible help to the families of the deceased.
