Tennessee man identified as suspect in multi-county pursuit that ended in fatal crash in Cullman

A Tennessee man has been identified as a suspect in a multi-county chase that ended in the death of a Cullman County woman. Around 7:35 a.m. Friday, a Hartselle patrol officer was driving on Highway 31 near Crescent Drive when they noticed a car driving recklessly, nearly hitting another vehicle, according to the Hartselle Police Department. The officer then attempted to stop the vehicle, which continued to speed toward Falkville and out of the Hartselle town limits.>> YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD: WVTM 13 Community Coverage Pursued by police and state troopers State of Alabama, the suspect, identified as Michael Ivy, 39, of Middleton, Tennessee, entered the city limits of Cullman, where investigators said officers saw him run several red lights in heavy traffic before crashing in front of the Town Square shopping center. Center.Highway 31 in Cullman was closed for hours in both directions as first responders worked the crash scene. It has since reopened. A woman who was driving one of the vehicles involved in the crash was killed. She was identified as Ellarae Dickson, 77, of Crane Hill. His passenger was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
