MASSACHUSETTS – After a taste of summer, spring will return to Massachusetts this week.

Temperatures across the state will approach the 80s on Monday before cooling bottoms out on Thursday. Most areas of the state will be in the 65 degree range that day, with cooler temperatures on the Cape and Islands, according to the National Weather Service.

But relatively dry weather and sunshine will support these cooler temperatures. On Monday, forecasters predicted rain only from Wednesday evening to Thursday morning.

“Although generally dry weather is expected to prevail, there is a better chance of rain developing overnight Wednesday into Thursday. Generally sunny and dry weather conditions for the weekend through early next week, with a warming trend,” the National Weather Service said Tuesday morning.

Temperatures are expected to start rising on Friday, reaching the mid-70s in many places, then the mid-70s on Saturday – the same for Sunday and Monday.
