Temperatures close to records in prospect for this weekend

THIS WEEKEND: Near record temperatures await us this weekend in Central Florida. With the help of good sunshine, temperatures will quickly rise. Afternoon highs will reach the upper 90s, likely just below the triple digit mark for areas west of I-95. Near the beaches, temperatures will also be quite warm with highs in the 90s.

  • SATURDAY – FORECAST HIGH: 98° RECORD HIGH: 99° (1985)

  • SUNDAY – FORECAST MAXIMUM: RECORD MAXIMUM: 100° (1907)

Once we factor in humidity levels, temperatures felt will be in the triple digit zone. Make sure you stay hydrated and cool!
A few isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms will be possible today and tomorrow. Widespread flooding is not expected, but some heavy showers and rumbling thunder will be possible today and tomorrow.LOOKING FORWARD: A major model change is underway for the new work week. This change will help bring much-needed rain to Central Florida and hopefully reduce and alleviate drought conditions across the state. The long-term trend appears to be active as well, with more precipitation possible for the long-term forecast.
