Telangana Medical Council cracks down

Hyderabad: A group of 30 members of the Telangana Medical Council and Indian Medical Association, led by president Dr Mahesh Kumar and vice-president Dr G Srinivas, on Saturday identified 122 fake doctors in Khammam. They claimed that there were at least 250 fake doctors in the district. The team will inspect district medical centers for four more days

Inspections were carried out in Khammam Urban and Rural at Kusumanchi, M. Venkatayapalem, Nelakondapalli, Konijarla, Mudigonda, Vaira, Tallada, Enukuru, Jullur Padu, Kallur, Kothagudem, Sujatha Nagar, BM Banjera, Raghunadhapalem, Karepalli, Mulkalapalli, Tekulapalli, Kamepalli. , Illandu, Mucharla and Thimmarao Peta.

The 122 fake doctors were identified in Tirumalayapalem and Pindiprolu areas. Posing as RMPs and PMPs, they administered antibiotics, steroid injections and painkillers. Dr Srinivas said legal action would be taken against them.

Ethics committee chairman Dr Kiran Kumar said illegal operations, including clandestine abortion procedures and excessive steroid injections to relieve knee pain, were being carried out under the guise of first aid centers. A monitoring system has been put in place to monitor these activities.

Public Relations Committee Chairman Dr Naresh Kumar said no one should practice medicine without a medical degree. Those with paramedical training should only provide basic care and refer patients to public hospitals.
