Tragic Romantic Encounter for Ugandan Teenager

Even as the teenage lovebirds agreed to meet, the girl's family would have learned of their affair and would therefore be on the lookout.

The girl's relatives followed the duo and caught them having a hot time.

They allegedly attacked the boy, killed him and then dumped his body in the Oziava swamp, a few kilometers from his girlfriend's home.

The police, while confirming the tragic incident, advised the Ugandan population against taking the law into their own hands.

“This information was reported to the police who opened murder proceedings and began an investigation into the incident. A team of police officers, including the regional crime scene officer, attended the scene and properly documented it.

He said the suspect, a student of Gathuthiini Secondary School, fled to his uncle's house in Ruaka, where he was found.

The boy reportedly confessed to his uncle about the heinous act, further revealing that he had sold his bicycle, the proceeds of which he used to pay for the ride to Ruaka from Kirinyaga.

The deceased's mother, Pauline Wairimu, had left them at home as she headed to a nearby market, oblivious to the impending tragedy.

It was their domestic help who learned of the tragic death of the young girl, who came across the body lying in a pool of blood in the room where they were.

The boy had already run away.

Efforts to resuscitate her proved futile, as she was pronounced dead on arrival at a nearby hospital.
