A teenage killer who fatally stabbed another boy on a busy dance floor was today named for the first time.

The journalists' requests were authorized by Her Honor Judge Christine Henson K, lifting the order protecting her identity.

Yura Varybrus, 18, stabbed teenager Charlie Cosser three times in the chest, after he was asked to leave an end-of-year party on the grounds of a 1.5 country farm £ last summer.

Removing his anonymity, Judge Henson said: “This is a case which constitutes a particularly serious crime and which has attracted considerable national and local interest.

“The level of juvenile delinquency in this case is likely to generate significant public interest at a private party attended by many young people.

“The death of Charlie Cosser shocked the whole community and the family set up a charity to combat knife crime.

“Disclosure could help the local community deal with this incident.

“Consideration of acting as a deterrent to future knife crime against young people is a legitimate aim of press reporting to act as a deterrent to others.”

Varybrus has Ukrainian parents and before the party took place at Balmohano Farm near Warnham, West Sussex, he had never met Charlie before.

He was just 16 when he initially pleaded guilty to murder at Lewes Crown Court on July 28 and was due to be sentenced in September last year.

Those who saw the 1.70m teenager at the party described him as a “tall boy”.

He reportedly drank heavily throughout the night and as a result claimed not to remember the details of the murder.

At another hearing in November, his guilty plea was overturned, meaning he could face trial for murder.

According to The Telegraph, Charlie's father, Martin Dosser, said: “He is well known and I know people are afraid of him. The DCI told me that when he told him Charlie had died, he didn't even flinch.

“He is known for carrying a knife, as is his friend, who I think gave him the knife.”

The trial jury was not told that Varybrus had already pleaded guilty to murder days after Charlie's death.

He was 16 at the time and responded “guilty” when the murder charge was laid against him in July last year.

When he was stepped off the Lewes dock, he exchanged a raised fist salute with his father.

After the hearing, his father said: “It's not just him, we're all guilty. He's a child, we are all responsible and should have made sure they weren't drinking.

“I’ve never seen him drink before. I haven't been able to see him for five days and he's only 16, he's a child.

“We need him to know that we love him and will stay with him for the rest of his life.”

Her Honor Judge Christine Henson KC will sentence Yura Varybrus at Brighton Crown Court today.

Previously, Charlie's family paid tribute to their most caring, cheeky and loving son and brother, who had a “ridiculously silly sense of humour”.

They set up a charity called Charlie's Promise, which is dedicated to tackling knife crime in Surrey and across the UK.
