Teenager who died in Harrison parking lot fall remembered at prayer service

A Hudson Valley community comes together to mourn the sudden loss of a 13-year-old boy.

Mark Anthony Giordano died Sunday after his electric bike went over the edge of the Metro-North parking lot near the Harrison station.

The authorities speak of a tragic accident.

A prayer service was held Wednesday evening at 6 p.m. at St. Gregory the Great Church on Halstead Avenue in Harrison.

His classmates say they are in shock.

“He brightened up the day, he had jokes, it was funny,” Noah Martinez said.

Giordano's teammates tell News 12 he accomplished so much in such a short time.

“He had the most potential in the whole class. He was academic for football and he was a very good wrestler,” Gabriel Amaril said.

Giordano is remembered as an outstanding wrestler, a loving teammate and a kind brother whose life was cut short in a rare accident.

Emergency officials said Giordano was riding his e-bike with others to the top of the Metro-North parking lot at the Harrison station Sunday evening. At one point, officials say he lost control and went over the side of the structure, dropping five stories.

A wake will be held Thursday from 4 to 9 p.m. at McMahon Funeral Home, Lyon and Hartnett in White Plains. Giordano's funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Gregory the Great Church.

A Go Fund Me page has been set up to help his family during this difficult time.
