A teenager targeted by telephone

A 16-year-old boy was attacked and chased for his cell phone by four men in Clinton Hill on May 13.

The teen told police he was at the intersection of Hall Street and Willoughby Avenue at 3 p.m. when four strangers approached him and asked for his cell phone. One of the men punched the teenager in the face while a second cut his right hand with a knife in an attempt to take the phone.

The four criminals then chased the boy into a nearby building where they continued to assault him before leaving the scene. Police said they were examining nearby cameras to identify those involved.

Taxi driver attacked

A taxi driver was allegedly assaulted and had his wallet stolen by an angry passenger while dropping him off in Clinton Hill on May 18.

According to the 40-year-old driver, he was dropping off a man and a woman at the Socialites Lounge on Atlantic Avenue around 2:30 a.m. when the woman left her phone in the back of the taxi.

The man, aged 18, returned to the taxi to retrieve the phone, but allegedly punched the driver in the face and took his wallet.

Officers from the 88th Precinct arrested the 18-year-old man inside the bar where he also allegedly attempted to use the taxi driver's credit card.

Man shot and killed interrupting fight

A 47-year-old man was shot while trying to break up a fight in Fort Greene on May 19.

The man showed up at Brooklyn Hospital's emergency room after 8 p.m. that evening with a gunshot wound to the side of his stomach.

He told police there was a group of children fighting near Cumberland Street and Park Avenue and he got in the middle to try to disperse it. He said he then heard a gunshot ring out, followed by a sharp pain in his stomach.

The 47-year-old man was transported to Maimonides Hospital for further medical treatment. Investigators reported recovering a shell casing at the scene. No suspects have been identified so far.
