Teenager suffered breathing difficulties after being attacked on the Essex border

A teenager who was stabbed in the chest is still struggling to breathe properly five months after the incident. Detectives continue to investigate a serious assault that left the 15-year-old boy in a life-threatening condition.

Police were called at 9.54pm on January 20 to reports of a stabbing on Southbury Road, near the entrance to Bush Hill Park on the Essex border in Enfield. The police intervened and provided first aid to a 15-year-old boy who had been injured.



The boy was taken to hospital where, after weeks of treatment, he was finally discharged. Four people were arrested in connection with the investigation and all four have been released on bail.

Detectives are continuing to investigate the incident and are seeking news of anyone who has not yet spoken to them. Detective Constable Doug Haggerty said: “Our investigation has been ongoing for several months since this incident and we are working around the clock to identify those responsible. I would like to thank everyone who has come forward so far and ask anyone who has not yet spoken to us to please come forward .

“If you were in the area or even if you recently learned something that could help our investigation, please contact us. Fortunately, the young victim has recovered from her injuries, but she still suffers from respiratory and other problems significant health problems as a result of this attack, it is really important that we bring those responsible to justice.”
