Teenager steals grandma's car, crashes into light pole in Lehigh Acres

A 14-year-old allegedly stole his grandmother's car before crashing it into a light pole and fleeing in Lehigh Acres Tuesday morning. Lee County deputies responded to reports of a crash that occurred at the intersection of Marble Brook Boulevard and Homestead Road S around 12:41 p.m. Deputies say 14-year-old Alden Roberts crashed into a pole, totaling the car, but suffered no injuries. Officers reportedly arrested Roberts and charged him with: One count of fleeing/eluding police Five traffic violations One count of resisting police The grandmother is reportedly not carrying complaint. Crews are reportedly on site to repair the pole.

Lee County deputies responded to reports of a crash at the intersection of Marble Brook Boulevard and Homestead Road S around 12:41 a.m.

Deputies say Alden Roberts, 14, crashed into a pole, destroying the car, but suffered no injuries.

Deputies reportedly arrested Roberts and charged him with:

  • One count of fleeing/eluding police
  • Five traffic violations
  • One count for resisting officers

According to some reports, the grandmother did not press charges.

Crews are reportedly on site to repair the pole.
