Teenager shot dead in Madison, Tennessee park

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A teenager was shot and killed in a Madison park Wednesday afternoon.

The shooting happened shortly after 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 12, in the 500 block of North Dupont Avenue.


Metropolitan Police said a witness at the scene told officers there was a group of six juveniles in the park and two of them shot each other. However, the teenager struck by the bullet was not at the scene when police arrived.

Witnesses told police the victim got into a gold car and drove off. Officers found the car and got behind it as it approached TriStar Skyline Medical Center, according to investigators.

Police said the victim, who was shot in the chest, was taken inside the hospital to be treated for his serious injuries.

The golden vehicle and those on board are currently being held in hospital. Park officials are still searching for the other juveniles who fled after the shooting.
