Teenager shot dead in front of metro station

A 19-year-old is in hospital after being shot outside a north London tube station.

The victim was attacked at 6.40pm on Wednesday near Sudbury Hill station in Harrow, the Metropolitan Police said.

He was found in Greenford Road, outside the police station, with multiple gunshot wounds.

His injuries were assessed as non-life-threatening and non-life-altering, the Met said.

A 31-year-old woman living opposite the station saw the victim on the road.

She told the PA news agency: “I was in my kitchen. I live opposite Sudbury Hill station and we heard four gunshots and a scream – but very brief.

The woman said she and her sister initially thought it was fireworks.

“It felt like someone was hitting a thick metal plate,” she said.

“Then we saw the police coming and we can see everything from our window and we saw a person lying on the road at the traffic light.”

She added: “It's the first time in my life I've heard gunshots, so we didn't realize it was gunshots until we saw the police. »

No arrests have been made and investigations continue.

Greenford Road is closed and trains do not currently stop at Sudbury Hill station.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 or tweet @MetCC quoting CAD 5975/18NOV.
