Teenager 'left with broken jaw' after being attacked by 'group of ten men' outside Manchester nightclub

A teenager was left “with a broken jaw” after being attacked by a “group of ten men” outside a Manchester nightclub on Saturday night (May 25).

Police were called following the attack near Cargo nightclub in Printworks, which broke out as people were enjoying the evening in the city centre.

The large group of men are believed to have approached another group of friends, all aged 19, before punches were thrown. The father of one of the victims said one of the teenagers suffered a broken jaw in the violent attack.

“One of the men punched my son's friend twice in the face, breaking his jaw,” he told the MEN. “He then continued to punch the victim while she was on the ground, concussed and helpless.

“Another friend tried to intervene and verbally attempted to stop the fight. He was also attacked.” Further details about what led to the fight have not been confirmed.

Greater Manchester Police have since confirmed the incident is being investigated. No arrests have been made in connection with the attack, but investigations continue.

The incident occurred just two days before other violent scenes broke out outside the print shop. On Monday May 27, a group of young people found themselves involved in a “large-scale fight”.
