Teenager killed in Biggin Hill motorbike crash as police appeal for witnesses

Police are appealing for information after a 17-year-old boy was killed in a crash involving a motorbike in Biggin Hill on Sunday evening (June 9). Around 11:58 p.m., an off-duty police officer came across a motorcycle involved in a collision on Main Road.

Two teenagers were both given first aid before the London Ambulance Service attended the scene. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “Despite the efforts of emergency services, one of the men, aged 17, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

“His family have been informed and will be supported by specialist officers.” A second man was taken to hospital for further treatment, where his condition was deemed not life-threatening.

He was arrested as part of the investigation and taken to a south London police station while investigations continue to establish the full circumstances of the collision. The investigation is being carried out by the Met's Serious Collision Investigation Unit based in Catford.

Investigators believe the motorcycle may have been near a car at the time of the collision, but the car did not stop at the scene. Investigations are underway to locate the vehicle and its occupants to establish whether it played a role in the accident.

Any witnesses are asked to call police on 101 and quote reference 8152/10JUN24. Alternatively, you can provide information anonymously via Crime Stoppers .
