Teenager found unconscious at Jacksonville pool and pronounced dead on scene

The Jacksonville Police Department is investigating the death of a 15-year-old girl after she was found unresponsive in a community pool.

Jacksonville Fire and Emergency Services crews responded to the Holiday City Community Homes on Corbin Street around 3:50 p.m. on Saturday, June 1, in reference to an unresponsive juvenile.

The 15-year-old boy was rescued from a swimming pool when emergency services arrived. Bystanders were administering CPR, according to Jacksonville officials. Emergency services tried to save lives, without success, and the victim was pronounced dead on the spot. The medical examiner's office is assisting in the investigation.

Jacksonville Police Chief Michael Yaniero shared the following:
