Teenager drowns near Arnala beach in Maharashtra

Virar: A group of friends go on a happy beach retreat. Little did they know that this would be their last meeting with one of their loved ones. The incident took place near Arnala beach, located in Virar in Maharashtra. A group of friends, including the sick 19-year-old teenager identified as Devrai Rai, left home for Arnala beach to spend a joyful day and enjoy the onset of monsoon in Maharashtra. The group ventured into the sea and later Devrai washed away, leaving the rest of the friends in shock. The high tide causing strong currents led to the tragedy.

According to a Hindustan Times report, a passerby said, “We could hear them playing happily in the shallow water, however, as it was high tide, the teenagers were pulled inside with the current. »

Devrai's body was later found and transferred to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead. With the onset of monsoon in Maharashtra, people are advised to plan their travel and leisure activities carefully after checking the respective advisories.

This is the second such death reported in India in the last 24 hours. according to a PTI report, a 25-year-old youth died after drowning at Hebbe Falls in Kemmanagundi in the district. Shravan, a native of Hyderabad, had come to Chikkamagaluru with his friend to visit some picturesque places. They reached Chikkamagaluru by bus and rented a bike. After visiting a few places, they reached Hebbe Falls on Monday. Shravan slipped and began to drown, while his friend struggled to get out. People nearby rescued Shravan, but he died while hospitalized.
