Teenager dies, adult stabbed during sleepover in Florida | NewsRadio WFLA

Wildwood, FL – A teenager has been arrested on murder charges following the death of a 15-year-old boy in a stabbing attack at a sleepover in Florida on Saturday.

According to authorities, the Sumter County Sheriff's Office responded to a call shortly after 10 p.m. at a residence on County Road 148 in Wildwood.

When police arrived, they found a teenager and an adult man suffering from stab wounds.

Both victims were airlifted to hospitals.

The teenager died of his injuries early Sunday morning.

The adult is currently in stable condition in intensive care.

An investigation revealed the stabbing occurred during a sleepover and the suspect, identified as 16-year-old Alexander Warren Hernandez, arrived uninvited, entered the residence and a confrontation ensued.

Hernández allegedly stabbed the 15-year-old and the adult who intervened.

A third person present was also threatened but was not injured during Saturday's attack.

Hernandez fled the scene but was apprehended a short time later with the assistance of a sheriff's office helicopter.

He is being held in the Sumter County Jail on charges of premeditated first-degree murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and armed burglary.

The motive for Saturday's attack remains under investigation.
