Teenager dead, another injured in shooting in Western District

On May 25, 2024, at approximately 3:42 p.m., officers from the Baltimore Police Department responded to the 900 block of North Dukeland Street to investigate a ShotSpotter alert.

Upon arrival, officers observed Denzel Johnson, 17, suffering from a fatal gunshot wound. Upon further investigation, officers found a 15-year-old male with a gunshot wound. Both victims were transported to an area hospital, where Johnson was pronounced deceased and the 15-year-old was treated for his injury.

Homicide detectives stepped in and took control of this investigation.
