Teenager charged in Bermuda Day stabbing – The Royal Gazette

A teenager was charged in the Magistrates Court this morning with the fatal stabbing of a man on Bermuda Day.

Dahny Simmons-Outerbridge, 18, has been charged with the unlawful killing of Zijae Jones, 20, in Horseshoe Bay, Southampton.

Mr Simmons-Outerbridge was also charged, in a marginally enhanced area, with possession of a knife in a public place.

He was not required to plead guilty when he appeared in court today as the case is due to be heard in the Supreme Court.

Senior Magistrate Maxanne Anderson adjourned the case until the July arraignment session and released Mr Simmons-Outerbridge on $50,000 bail with a similar surety.

Ms. Anderson also ordered that Mr. Simmons-Outerbridge be placed under house arrest for 24 hours, not contact any witnesses and be fitted with an electronic monitoring device.
