Teenager charged following alleged theft in Braintree | News

Police arrested four teenagers in total following the incident in the city centre.

A teenager has been charged over a theft in Braintree thanks to the good work of our officers.

It was reported that a 15-year-old boy had his coat stolen in Braintree town center at around 3pm last Monday (May 27).

Officers who responded to the scene quickly arrested two 14-year-old boys and a 15-year-old boy on suspicion of theft and recovered a coat.

They have since been released on bail until August 23.

Three days later (Thursday May 30), the police arrested four 15-year-old teenagers.

He has since been charged with robbery and public order offenses and is next due to appear at Southend Magistrates' Court on Tuesday June 4.
