Teenager arrested after woman seriously sexually assaulted near Glasgow Hydro

A teenager has been arrested after a woman was allegedly the victim of a serious sexual assault near the Hydro in Glasgow.

Police received a report of a woman who was allegedly assaulted in the Congress Road area of ​​Glasgow on Friday evening. Officers responded and the area was quickly cordoned off.

On Saturday, an eyewitness said: “Clydeside at SEC Armadillo is taped off by police and much of the bushes are cordoned off by four police officers guarding it.”

Police confirmed a 16-year-old boy had been arrested in connection with the incident. He was released pending further investigation.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received a report of a serious sexual assault against a woman in the Congress Road area of ​​Glasgow on the evening of Friday 31 May 2024.

“A 16-year-old man was arrested in this context and released pending further investigation. Investigations are ongoing. »
