According to the father, Mr. Kamal, he, his wife and their son ate the fried eggs, while their two daughters only ate the noodles.

Her son ate a total of three fried eggs, and soon after, those who ate the eggs quickly began to experience stomach pain.

Mr Kamal said he went to a clinic on Monday June 10, thinking his son was fine.

However, when he returned home, he was shocked to learn that the boy had died.

He was informed that the food had been ordered by the organizers of the school program.

Gombak district police chief Deputy Commissioner Noor Ariffin Mohamad Nasir confirmed that officers received reports from the two victims on Monday.

The bodies of the two victims were sent to the Forensic Department of Selayang Hospital for further investigation.

Both cases were classified as sudden death.

Another 82 people suffered from diarrhea and vomiting

In addition to those who died, dozens of other people who attended the religious school program also had symptoms of food poisoning.

Since last Saturday, 82 people, including 48 women, have started experiencing symptoms such as diarrhea and vomiting.

A source told Kosmo that event organizers hired a caterer to prepare and cook 240 servings of bee hoon and fried eggs at a school canteen.

The food was prepared at 4:30 a.m. and served for breakfast at 6:30 a.m. to the 240 participants of the event.

“Reports indicated that the bee hoon had an unusual taste and was sticky, and the egg yolks were blackened,” the source claimed.

They suspect the food may have been contaminated with Bacillus cereus or Salmonella bacteria.

The New Straits Times reported that police planned to summon the caterer and organizers of the program for questioning regarding the food poisoning cases.

While lab results to determine the type of poisoning are still awaited, Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan confirmed that the victims ate the same food from the program.
