Teenager, 16, fights for life after 'disturbance' in Glasgow park

Emergency services were called to Greenfield Park in Eskbank Street at around 8.15pm on Friday, May 31 to reports of a disturbance and found a 16-year-old man seriously injured.

He was rushed to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

A 13-year-old boy was also taken to hospital for treatment.

Police said he was arrested in connection with the incident.

An investigation has been launched and there will be a significant police presence in the area while investigations continue.

Anyone with information is asked to approach these officers or contact Police Scotland via 101.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “At around 8.15pm on Friday 31 May 2024, we were called to reports of a disturbance in the Cranhill area of ​​Glasgow.

“Emergency services attended Greenfield Park, Eskbank Street, and found a 16-year-old man seriously injured.

“He was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, where medical staff described his condition as critical.

“A 13-year-old boy was also taken to hospital for treatment.

“He was arrested in connection with the incident.

“Investigations are ongoing and there will continue to be a significant police presence in the area while officers carry out their investigation.

“Anyone with concerns or information can speak to these officers or contact Police Scotland on 101.”
