Teenage victim of fatal Prince George's County shooting identified

SUITLAND, Maryland – The homicide unit is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Thursday night in Suitland. The victim is Juan Roach, 16, of Suitland.

On June 27, 2024, at approximately 6:40 p.m., officers responded to a shooting in the 7400 block of Towne Park Road. The deceased was found outside suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene. A second individual, an adult male, was also shot. His injuries are not considered life-threatening.

The preliminary investigation into this incident suggests that multiple individuals fired a weapon and that several people were armed at the scene. A firearm was found outside in the yard. Investigators continue to work to determine the circumstances and motive for the shooting.

Investigators are consulting with the Prince George's County District Attorney's Office regarding this investigation. At this time, no charges have been filed against anyone involved. The investigation is ongoing.
