Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #1 recorded more than 300,000 orders before the launch of the new series.

Announced in a press release, the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series from IDW Publishing has already received a massive response from retailers and fans, as there are over 300,000 orders ahead of the first issue's release. “This gargantuan number officially makes this one of the biggest comic book launches of the year,” the press release states.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #1 is written by Jason Aaron, illustrated by Joëlle Jones, colored by Ronda Pattinson, and written by Shawn Lee.

“Thank you to all the retailers and fans for believing in what we are doing with this new series and supporting the book in such a massive way,” Aaron said. “There are so many cool covers to choose from, and this summer there will be lots of pizza parties and big events around the country around this launch and the 40th anniversary of the Ninja Turtles. But ultimately, I'm most excited for people to hold the book in their hands and see Joëlle's incredible art and read the beginning of what should be a crazy, fun story.
