Teenage Argentina Sensation's form creates transfer dilemma for Inter Milan

Teenage attacking midfielder Valentin Carboni's peak form creates a transfer dilemma for Inter Milan.

This is highlighted in today's print edition of the Roman newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews. The newspaper notes that the Nerazzurri can benefit from Carboni this summer, but risk seriously regretting it.

Inter's young attacking midfielder Carboni was included in Argentina's starting lineup against Guatemala on Friday.

Albiceleste coach Lionel Scaloni decided to give the Inter teenager the opportunity to prove himself not only on the bench, but also in the starting XI.

Argentina beat Guatemala 4-1 in the Copa America warm-up friendly match.

Lionel Messi scored the first two goals, while Inter captain Lautaro Martinez completed the victory with two more.

Carboni's presence on the team was certainly a statement.

The Inter midfielder is still a teenager and he has broken into the starting XI of the reigning World Cup champions.

But that only follows the growth trajectory Carboni is already on.

The 19-year-old spent last season on loan at Monza. There he gained his first experience playing senior football regularly and his form improved as the season progressed.

Carboni's form for Argentina was so impressive that he earned a place in the Albiceleste squad for the Copa America.

There, the teenager could have the chance to attract even more attention.

What is clear is that if Inter decide to sell Carboni this summer, there will be no shortage of suitors.

And reports indicate the Nerazzurri are already ready to cash in.

Inter are demanding a fee of at least 30 million euros for Carboni. This amount hardly seems unthinkable given the player's form with his national team.

This type of money would have a big impact for Inter in the short term.

The Nerazzurri can only sign this summer by reinvesting transfer fees from sales.

A big windfall from the sale of Carboni would allow the club to invest in the market.

But there is also a big dilemma. If Inter sell Carboni now rather than wait and be patient, they could end up hugely regretting allowing him to leave.
