Teen Workshop | Bullock Texas State History Museum

Event details

Appreciate the beauty of Native culture, learn the history of beading, and make beaded necklaces with Austin Powwow fashion designer and dancer Nan Blassingame. All materials are provided for this drop-in program. The Teen Workshop series takes place on alternating Thursdays throughout the summer for ages 13 to 18. Activities are included in museum admission.

About family programs

Family programs provide educational and engaging activities for young Texans and their caregivers. Events are designed to bring families together, spark conversations and provide opportunities for growth and development.

About the artist

Nan Blassingame is a citizen of the Cheyenne and Arapaho Nations. Through his Austin-based clothing brand, Blassingame creates powwow regalia as well as clothing inspired by his tribal identity.
