Teen wanted for two murders in North Texas – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth

Dallas police are searching for a teenager wanted in connection with not one, but two fatal shootings.

Police say the first time happened Dec. 11 in the 10500 block of Lake June Road in Pleasant Grove.

The second, they say, took place on May 2, not far away, in the 2400 block of N. Masters Drive.

Last month, clutching her son's necklace, Ana Aguirre explained what led to his murder. On Friday, she spoke with NBC 5 again from her hospital room.

“I can't sleep. I can't eat. The last image I had of him was him passing away and the pain he felt and it's killing me,” Aguirre said.

She says it happened on Thursday, May 2 around 7 p.m., while she was on her way to the grocery store, she hit an SUV while stopped on N. Masters Drive. Police described it as a minor accident.

“I didn’t see that car coming. I had an accident,” Aguirre said.

Shortly after, she says a woman claiming to be the driver's mother appeared.

“We got a little heated because she wanted my insurance card and said she wouldn't leave without my insurance card,” Aguirre said.

Because she said she didn't have a paper copy of her insurance card with her, Aguirre called home for her family to bring it.

Her son Isaac, 16, arrived moments later.

“My son tried to intervene to protect his mother like he always did. Unfortunately, I guess the lady involved in the accident contacted her people,” Aguirre said.

These people, Aguirre said, arrived, continued the argument but then left.

“They came back a few minutes later and the boy jumped out of the car and opened fire, hitting my son in the forehead and injuring two other people,” Aguirre said.

She said Isaac's father held Isaac in his arms as he died.

“How could someone be so cruel as to take someone's life over a piece of metal that could have been easily repaired?” I had insurance. I have never refused to provide them with insurance,” Aguirre said.

This week, Dallas police identified the suspect as Pablo Veliz, a 17-year-old police officer now linked to the December killing of a man on Lake June Road, about a mile and a half from where Isaac was beaten down.

Around 5:45 p.m. on Dec. 11, police said they were notified of a gunshot victim at a Mesquite area hospital. The victim, Aarzo Jones, 27, was taken by private vehicle to a hospital where he died from his injuries, police said.

Police said an investigation also determined Veliz was the suspect in Jones' murder.

“He not only took one life, he took two, and he's a child himself, but at this point, taking two lives, you know what you're doing,” Aguirre said.

Living without her youngest child, she says, will be the same and catching Isaac's killer is the only way to bring him peace.

The suspect, Pablo Veliz, 17, is still at large.
