Teen to sweep court for 2 weeks for stealing food items worth ₦300,000

The magistrate, Mrs. OO Odumosusentenced Oguntoyinbo after pleading guilty to burglary and theft.

Odumosu ordered the convict to serve his sentence on the court premises, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., every day.

Previously, prosecutor ASP Olakunle Shonibare told the court that Oguntoyinbo committed the offense on May 19 at 8am on Road No. 1 F-2 at Oorun Idi-Ori village, Abeokuta.

Shonibare said Oguntoyinbo broke into Ms. Falicia Ajibadeand stole foodstuffs and other valuables worth N300,000.

He said the items stolen by the teenager included: rice, beans, peak milk, palm oil, vegetable oil, spaghetti, baby clothes, a solar panel and a Android phone.

Shonibare said the teenager was arrested by security officers, who handed him over to the police.

He said the offense contravened the provisions of sections 412 and 390 of the Ogun Penal Code, 2006.
