'Teen Mom' Star Amber Portwood Engaged to Boyfriend Gary: Report

“Teen Mom” star Amber Portwood is reportedly engaged to her boyfriend, Gary.

A source close to Portwood told Us Weekly on Friday that the MTV personality was “really happy” after accepting a proposal from her beau in the past two weeks.

According to the outlet, Gary – whose last name is unknown – popped the question with a ring made with a “family stone”, making the sentimental piece of jewelry even more meaningful.

The source also shared that the Indiana-based couple has been preparing for marriage by attending couples therapy.

“They've been in couples therapy and are talking about everything,” the source explained. “They are very proactive in their relationship and do the work necessary to prevent problems before they start.”

A representative for Portwood did not immediately respond to Page Six's request for comment.

In January, Us Weekly reported that Portwood, 34, began dating Gary – who is believed to be in his 30s with no children – after meeting him through a dating app in 2023.

It was said that Gary's disinterest in Portwood's reality TV fame made it easier for their romance to blossom.

“This new man in her life has actually never seen 'Teen Mom,' so she feels like she can finally date like she's always wanted to,” a source told Us Weekly.

The “16 & Pregnant” alum shares daughter Leah, 15, with ex Gary Shirley, with whom she dated from 2008 to 2011.

While Shirley has full custody of Leah, the couple amicably co-parent their teenager.

Portwood is also the mother of a 6-year-old son, James, whom she shares with her ex Andrew Glennon. In 2022, the author of “Never Too Late” lost custody of his second child following a heated altercation with his father.

Portwood's other public relationship includes her engagement to Matt Baier, which ran from 2015 to 2017.

Each of these exes has appeared on TV with Portwood — who currently stars in “Teen Mom: The Next Chapter” — at some point. It remains to be seen whether his new Gary will make his reality TV debut in Season 2, which premiered May 30.
