'Teen Mom' Missing Fiancé Amber Portwood Calls Police, Confirms He's Okay

Exclusive details

“Teen Mom” AMBER PORTWOOD

Missing fiancé GARY has been found…

I called the police, he says he's fine

Amber Portwoodfiance, Gary Waytis no longer MIA according to cops … as they confirm he has been located safe, TMZ has learned.

The Bryson City Police Department in North Carolina tells us that Gary – who has been engaged to the “Teen Mom” star in recent weeks – called the department from a restricted number Friday afternoon, assuring them he was perfectly well and in good health.

To make sure Gary was okay…we were told the police interviewed him with very specific questions, and he came back with equally specific answers. That sealed the case for the cops – they're 100% sure it was Gary at the horn, and they closed the missing persons case.

It's unclear where Gary was calling from – but remember, we were told Thursday he was supposedly spotted several thousand miles away, in Weatherford, Oklahoma.

Witnesses said the person even identified himself as Gary and showed no signs of distress. That said, the alleged sighting was never 100% confirmed…it was simply reported to the police.

Throughout the active investigation, authorities never suspected foul play or the possibility of suicide.

BCPD adds that authorities have been in contact with Amber, who expressed her concerns about Gary online… and she explained that although they had a discussion before seeing him last, “it wasn’t a big fight or anything like that.”

It is not yet known if Gary contacted Amber. We've reached out to her for clarification…but have yet to receive a response.
