Teen killed in suspected drug shooting in northeast Vegas

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A 15-year-old boy was shot and killed during an alleged drug deal in Northeast Las Vegas Wednesday evening, police said.

On Wednesday, June 5, around 8:40 p.m., Las Vegas Metropolitan Police officers responded to the 3900 block of North Nellis Boulevard, near North Las Vegas Boulevard, for reports of shots fired.


Officers learned that a 15-year-old boy had been shot and medical personnel took him to a local hospital. Hospital staff later pronounced him dead.

Through the investigation, detectives learned that the victim was in the area to purchase narcotics. After arriving, the vehicle he was in was approached by armed suspects who shot at the vehicle.

The LVMPD Homicide Section has taken over the investigation. No further details were given at the time of publication.

The identification of the victim, as well as the cause and manner of death, will be released.
