Teen killed in shooting in South Central Lawrence – The Lawrence Times

A 17-year-old was killed in an overnight shooting near 24th and Alabama streets in Lawrence, police say.

The victim was Isaiah Neal, of Lawrence.

Officers were dispatched to 2406 Alabama St. just after 1:15 a.m. Thursday, according to a news release from the Lawrence Police Department.

“The first officers found the young man with multiple gunshot wounds and began rendering aid until paramedics from Lawrence Douglas County Fire Medical arrived on scene,” according to the release.

“At this point, additional officers began securing the scene as a number of witnesses and their family members began to gather. Investigators were called to the scene. LDCFM paramedics transported the victim to hospital where he later died.

A reporter observed law enforcement vehicles and an investigation van at the crime scene around 4 a.m. Thursday.

Police have not arrested any suspects.

Police are asking anyone who may have information about the incident to call dispatch at 785-832-7509. Information can be provided anonymously to Crime Stoppers of Lawrence and Douglas County at 785-843-TIPS (8477).
