Teen injured in motorcycle crash on I-94 in Fargo – InForum

FARGO — A Fargo teenager was injured after the motorcycle he was riding collided with a pickup truck on an exit ramp along Interstate 94 on Monday, July 1.

The 17-year-old boy was riding a 2006 Suzuki motorcycle westbound at a high rate of speed in the left lane on I-94 near the 45th Street exit around 10:48 a.m. behind a 2019 Dodge Ram minivan driven by Julie Pierzina, 64 , of Hill City, according to a release from the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

As the motorcycle approached the van, Pierzina tried to change lanes to let it pass, but the driver of the motorcycle made a sudden lane change at the same time and hit the rear of the van, specifies the press release.

The driver of the motorcycle was thrown into the north ditch, and the motorcycle came to rest in the median, the press release said. The driver was slightly injured and was wearing a helmet. Pierzina was not injured.

Traffic was disrupted for approximately an hour while crews investigated the scene, the release said. The name of the juvenile and criminal charges will not be released, the patrol said.

Our newsroom occasionally reports stories under the byline “staff.” Often, the byline “personnel” is used when rewriting basic press releases that come from official sources, such as a city press release regarding a road closure, and that require little or no reporting. Sometimes this byline is used when a news story includes many authors or when the news story is formed by aggregating previously reported information from various sources. If outside sources are used, this is noted in the story.
