Teen hit by car at Spanish Fork intersection dies

SPANISH FORK — Spanish Fork police have confirmed that one of two teenagers struck while crossing the road in Spanish Fork last month has died.

The Teasdale family announced via a fundraiser* that their daughter Reagan died Monday.

“Reagan was able to end three horrible weeks of suffering and be reunited with his Heavenly Father,” David Teasdale said on the GoFundMe site. “To say Juliet and I miss her would be the biggest understatement. The house feels as empty as my heart.”

Reagan and her friend Olivia Swenson were hit by a car near 2300 E. Canyon Road on May 18. Both girls were seriously injured and airlifted to Primary Children's Hospital in critical condition.

Olivia was released from the hospital on May 28, but Reagan remained in a medically induced coma to give his brain time to heal.

The Teasdale family said Reagan was taken off life support Monday and had her organs and tissues donated.

“Knowing that other children who are suffering will be able to live, see, walk is the only joy in all of this. To say she will be missed is an understatement of the year. I love you Reagan and I miss you forever until “We hope we see each other again,” said David Teasdale.

Reagan's mother, Juliet Teasdale, thanked everyone for their support during this “incredibly devastating time.”

“Unfortunately, my daughter was unable to survive from this accident. However, she will be able to survive through the others because she was miraculously able to donate most of her organs to help save the lives of others. This is the only thing that comforts me at the moment,” she posted.

Juliet Teasdale said she knew Reagan had been taken in by her father, who died when she was a baby.

“I don't think I will ever pass through that intersection that took my daughter's life, but the love we received from our family, from our friends, from our neighbors, from our parish family and community will never be forgotten,” she said on the fundraising page.
