Teen faces new charges after attack, stabbing in Utah

SALT LAKE CITY — New charges have been filed against Keith Tyree McClendon, 19, a man involved in a stabbing in Herriman last month.

McClendon was charged with first-degree aggravated assault resulting in serious bodily injury, as well as third-degree aggravated assault, for an attack he allegedly planned to take place after his graduation from college. 'secondary studies.

A 16-year-old boy was killed in what started as a fight between two groups.

Police records show that McClendon was not the one who stabbed the 16-year-old. But he is accused of beating another teenager during the fight, who then stabbed the 16-year-old.

Salt Lake County Prosecutor Sim Gill announced the charges Thursday.
