Teen faces felony gun charge after unrest in Williamsport | News, Sports, Jobs

Minutes after a disturbance broke out involving a possible handgun Friday morning on a porch in the 800 block of West Third Street in Williamsport, Treyshawn Logan, 19, was arrested about a block from Second Street, Williamsport police said.

Although a handgun was never seen, it was alleged that Logan was reaching for one in a backpack during a verbal confrontation he had with others on the porch around 10:40 a.m. , an officer wrote in an affidavit.

Shortly after Logan's arrest, police began searching for the backpack he was believed to have with him on the porch, the court document states.

The backpack was found in a trash can at 747 Second St., Williamsport, not far from where Logan, of 941 Penn St., was arrested, police said. Inside the backpack was a handgun, police said, adding that they believed the gun and backpack belonged to Logan.

Following his appearance before District Judge William Solomon on charges of carrying a firearm without a license, simple assault and disorderly conduct, Logan was booked into the Lycoming County Jail in lieu of $50 bail. 000 $.
