Teen charged with murder in Hayes

A teenager has appeared in court charged with the murder of 16-year-old Kamari Johnson in Hayes.

The 17-year-old man appeared in custody at Uxbridge Magistrates' Court on Monday (May 27), charged with murder and possession of a sharp article in a public place.

He has been remanded in custody and will next appear at the Old Bailey on Wednesday, May 29.

He was arrested on Saturday (May 25) by detectives investigating Kamari's murder.

Police continue to appeal to any witnesses or anyone with information about the altercation which took place near Bourne Avenue and Nine Acre Close in Hayes at around 1.30pm on Friday May 24 to come forward and speak to police .

The force added in a statement: “We understand the impact this has had on the local community and are grateful for their continued support as this investigation continues.

“Local residents will continue to see an increased police presence in and around the area; Anyone with concerns is asked to speak to them or call police on 101.”
