Teen charged with menacing in Chambersburg Area School District

A 14-year-old from Chambersburg was charged with making terroristic threats after an incident that led to a police investigation Tuesday in the Chambersburg Area School District.

Pennsylvania State Police said they were called for help after information about a possible school shooting was gathered by school district police. A PSP spokesperson said Tuesday evening that a follow-up investigation found no evidence of a “credible threat” at the school.

The teen who made the threatening statement, however, was identified and turned over to Franklin County Juvenile Probation for further action.

It was not immediately clear which school was the subject of the threat, or whether it had an impact on the daily schedule. As of 11 p.m., Chambersburg Schools had no information about the incident publicly posted on its website or Facebook page.
