Teen brandishes BB gun during Rochester traffic dispute

Rochester, Minn. (KROC-AM News) – Police arrested a Rochester teen accused of threatening another man with a BB gun that appeared to replicate a real handgun.

Amanda Grayson, communications coordinator for the Rochester Police Department, said the incident began as a traffic conflict and escalated after the reported victim threw a stick at the suspect's car.

The man said he was threatened with a gun around 7 p.m. Tuesday evening.

Officers responded to the threatening call at a home in the 1700 block of 9th Street Northeast. The man told police he was outside his home when he saw a vehicle passing by that he believed was speeding and driving recklessly.

He said the same vehicle passed a second time and he threw a stick at it to get the driver's attention. The driver, later identified as 18 years old Sakariye Alicame out and pointed a gun at the ground, the police report states.

The men exchanged words and Ali left, according to the police report. Officers then found the vehicle parked at Silver Lake Park. Police arrested Ali after he admitted to stopping the car and getting out with the BB gun, Grayson said.
