Teen arrested in Broken Arrow hit-and-run that left pedestrian in critical condition | News

BROKEN ARROW, Okla. — A teenager was arrested after Broken Arrow police say he crashed his car into someone in a Slim Chicken parking lot near East Hillside Drive and South 177th East Avenue forcing them to go to the hospital.

Police said they received good tips from witnesses and found the car and shortly after he presented himself at the police station.

The police call it road rage.

It was around 4 p.m. Tuesday at the fast-food restaurant that Broken Arrow police said a teenager in a silver Infiniti ran over a man during a road rage incident.

“At one point, the suspect crashed his car into the victim's body and vehicle and became trapped on his vehicle,” said Ethan Hutchins, Broken Arrow Police.

This man is now hospitalized in critical condition.

Hutchins said he used a photo of the car and got tips from witnesses and social media to find the car.

“Eventually his car was found and the suspect showed up at the police station and spoke with the officers and was ultimately arrested,” Hutchins said.

The suspect's name and age are being withheld because he is a minor.

Police said he faces charges of assault with a deadly weapon and fleeing the scene of an accident resulting in injury.

Police said road rage is something everyone should be aware of.

“It's certainly not unusual for us to encounter a road rage incident, but I don't know the last time we found someone like that in a restaurant parking lot,” said Hutchins.

We're told the victim is still in hospital in critical condition.

Police said if you are ever concerned that someone is acting erratically on the road, call 911.
