Stewartville, Minn. (KROC-AM News) – Deputies arrested a teenager following a stabbing in Stewartville Thursday.

That's according to Captain Tim Parkin of the Olmsted County Sheriff's Office. He said deputies were dispatched to the report of an assault around 2:40 p.m.

Deputies were advised that two adults had been arguing inside a home for some time. The victim was taken to hospital following the reported stabbing.

Parkin said the argument and stabbing took place at a residence in the 2000 block of Osprey Pl. Northwest.

The preliminary investigation indicates that the suspect, aged 16, left a bedroom and entered the room where the adults were arguing. The boy then pulled out a pocket knife and stabbed a 40-year-old man twice, according to the law enforcement report.

Parkin said the victim suffered two stab wounds to the upper body. He was taken by ambulance to a hospital for treatment of what are described as non-life-threatening stab wounds.
