Teen and Miss Black Mansfield ready for Mansfield High School

The Buckeye State's Tiny Princess will crown the new Teen and Miss Black Mansfield winners Thursday at 6 p.m. at the Mansfield Senior High School auditorium, 124 N. Linden Road.

American Royal Beauties Buckeye State Tiny Princess Karter Reese, 3, two-time titleholder in her division and great-niece of pageant director Nicole Brown Horston, will crown the new Miss Black Mansfield (ages 19-29) and Teen Miss Black Mansfield (12-18 years old).

This event is not just a competition but a continuation of a legacy started in Mansfield years ago, organizers said.

Under the leadership of past principals, the Miss Black Mansfield pageant has served as a platform for empowerment and the celebration of black excellence, intelligence and talent. According to Horston, the pageant is not only a competition but also a stage to showcase the abilities and aspirations of young women and inspire others with their achievements.

For the women and teens of Mansfield, Horston's mission is to make the pageant more than a glamorous event. It is a transformative journey of self-discovery, self-confidence building and community involvement. This competition is about winning a title and discovering your potential, building your confidence and making a positive impact on the community.

“It’s a journey that can change lives, as it has for me, and it’s a journey we invite you to embark on,” Horston said.
